“Working with Christine and reading her book were revelations. She didn’t tell me how to do things and impose her design aesthetic. Instead, she offered a whole new way to think about our surroundings. We now have more life and tranquility in our home. My den, which I never liked being in, is now my favorite room. It is full of light and color. Our only purchase was a bird feeder that hangs outside a window that was used to be covered by shutters. The shutters are open, the views are lovely, and I feel so lucky to have found Christine.”

- M.G., owner of Editproof, after home consultation and e-mail follow-up (see CE’s blog, 9/18/09)

“Christine’s presentation was very effective… I was impressed with how she carried the presentation and conversation in a concise and joyful manner and how well she focused the subject matter to follow the theme of the weekend. I enjoyed working with Christine from the moment she sent me her proposal and truly look forward to working with her again.

“… We have implemented a number of your ideas and it has DEFINITELY made a difference! We lowered the ceiling of the family room and put in wing walls to “separate” it from the rest of the kitchen. We also put in one door to the sunroom across from one set of French doors on the other side of the family room for a straight axis into the gardens on either side! We also removed the post in the covered porch to give a better view from the playroom and moved the fireplace to the other end. You made some terrific suggestions that have really improved the layout.”

- N.R. (after a consultation of architect’s drawings for an extensive renovation)

“Christine has helped me create several rooms of “campfires” that have made our new home very warm and inviting. I have noticed since she worked with us that we are using the common areas more. The three teenagers are actually leaving their rooms and computers and hanging out with us) Amazing!”

“I love the Practical Tool [e-communication] and I am happy to be a subscriber! One of my new year’s resolutions is to live a more balanced, now-centered life. Our lives get so hectic, it is easy to lose time and the special moments that add up to a life well-lived.”

- E.J. (monthly subscriber)

“With the help of Christine, I made a very big positive change in my life and pulled together a beautiful home that better reflects what I want my life to look like now! Maybe you should call it lifestyle design therapy!!”

- D.L. (client)

“If I say that workshop changed the course of my life I would not be exaggerating. I was so consumed by maintaining my environment I had forgotten how to live in it. Now, not only is my home well organized, it represents the way my family lives. The workshop helped prioritize what was most important and what was just taking up energy, space or time. These things are not always obvious at first. I cannot believe how much information you gave to us in such a relaxed and open way.”

- J.H. (one year later)

I picked up lots of great information, all of which I still use on a regular basis. The time spent in this class was both productive and enjoyable, and the others were a total joy. I think we need a reunion.”

- P.G. (two years later)

“I also want to let you know that your course had a big impact on the way I think about home and balance. I continue to implement your suggestions and home to put a lot of your ideas in to play in my new home.”

- M.P. (3 years later)

“I love the way you run your workshop. I know my husband would really get into it too. I am already formulating ideas that have been brewing in my head. Thank you!”

- J.H. (workshop participant)

I can’t begin to tell you how much I’ve enjoyed the class and learning a whole new way to look at design. The emphasis on lifestyle has really made such a difference in my approach to everyday life. I have discovered how important it is for us to be in charge of ‘quality of life for our families and extend that to friends…. I want to stay involved in your offerings, so keep me posted!

- M.W. (SCAD student)

“I’m looking so much more livable, and I’m actually inspired to get there now!!!

- S.S. (workshop participant)

“In addition to introducing her students to an intriguing way to take a fresh perspective on one’s dwelling, Christine opens her home to a great group of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences. A thoroughly enjoyable experience with practical applications. Like anything, you get out of it what you’re willing to put into it. Christine makes it engaging.”

- A.H. (one year later)

“I really enjoyed the class. I am going to try and look at this house with a little more love and not just counting down the time. You were right - the wall blocks the sun from coming into the dining room!”

- D.M. (workshop participant)

“I enjoyed the (workshop) for the entire time - meeting fascinating people, doing creative things, remembering what jazzes me creatively, getting new ideas and information. It was just great.” - D.M. (one year later)

“I had the enlightening and eye-opening experience of working with Christine as my lifestyle design consultant and as a participant in one of her workshops. She led me through a variety of exercises and discussions, all of which helped me move from my big stately home into a newly-constructed house. My favorite (but most difficult!) exercise was writing a “home mission statement.” She also encouraged me to put together a clip book, saving scraps of paper, favorite quotes, fabric swatches and whatnot. Later, when I hired a decorator, I shared all of this with her. The decorator looked at me in awe and said simply, “You have just saved yourself several thousand dollars.” More importantly, I was clear on what I wanted my home to be.”

- DK (workshop participant and client)

“I do find the course so helpful to remind us all to be mindful of surroundings. I find it particularly helpful with a current remodel and landscape project underway!” Thanks again.

- J.F. (SCAD student)

“Thank you for your help. You’re providing a great service.”

- C.R. (magazine editor and workshop participant)

… a direct result of your class: with so much going on during the week, I purposely set out to leave my weekends free of plans, so I could be close to home… It has been a really interesting experiment to try to carve out quiet, personal time in the city. I think it was the whole idea of just being obligated on the weekend that became overwhelming. (Spur of the moment plans were) easy, effortless and (not) an “event” that I had to prepare for. Just thought you might find that of interest. It was very good for recharging.

- C.R. (two years after attending the workshop series)

“This week’s flower of choice is the alstromeria … sprinkled throughout the house in various wonderful vases I rarely use… AND - I’m so excited to be using my new light timer — it’s on a small lamp on my piano in an area that lights the stairs in the morning and evening. It’s amazing how welcoming that little ‘clue’ is!”

- R.P. (workshop participant)

“… I loved the lighting trick and it still is in use in my house. I especially enjoyed other people think about theirs.”

- M.P. (workshop participant)

You did a fabulous job with the class. I thoroughly enjoyed it and learned so much! being in the class, just taking a time out to think about my home and hear how

- M.M. (SCAD student)

“I had a great time at the workshop. You’ve given me such inspiration to rejuvenate our “space” here in Atlanta. I’m already looking at interiors in a new light. I even checked out a book from the library entitled “Living with the Seasons.”

- C.F. (workshop participant)

“I plan to pick up 5 more (light timers) and give them to a group of friends I’m spending the weekend with - in special ways each one has added light to my life and this will be a special, simple thanks. And of course while I’m at it, I’ll be buying several more for moi!”

- A.H. (workshop participant)
